Star Wars: Ahsoka is just one of the many upcoming Star Wars shows for Disney+ that I am excited for and my hype level just went up
According to The Illumenerdi, Star Wars: Ahsoka is looking to cast Barriss Offee. She is listed as a lead character in her 20-30 and they are looking to cast an Asian woman for the role.
For those who didn't watch The Clone Wars, Barriss Offee was Jedi Master Luminira Unduli's apprentice who turned to the Dark Side and bombed the Jedi Temple. She framed Ahsoka Tano for the crimes and even when Tano's name was cleared, she left the Jedi Order. Barriss has been in custody with an unknown fate. Although, if this rumor is true, that might not be the case for much longer.
Personally, I'm feeling mixed. I dislike her character (like many fans), but it was one of the more notable loose ends The Clone Wars never fixed due to it's Season 5 cancellation and subsequent move to Netflix, then Disney+/
Star Wars: Ahsoka starring Rosario Dawson, is scheduled to begin filming later this year for a 2022-2023 release date.
